For decades, heavy logging and unstable farming practices in New Zealand’s Gisborne and East Coast regions left landscapes exposed. Heavy rain events caused widespread erosion, sediment runoff, and damage to both land and community.

The Solution
Native Manuka Replanting
In 2018, long-time forestry and roading contractors Danny and Sheldon Drummond saw the damage first-hand and decided it was time to act.
Their plan? Replace damaged land with native Manuka, one of Aotearoa’s most resilient and beneficial indigenous species
